Activated carbon (AC) filtration is most effective in removing organic contaminants, composed of two basic elements, carbon and hydrogen. Because organic chemicals are often responsible for taste, odor, and color problems, AC filtration can generally improve aesthetically objectional water while removing chlorine. AC filtration is recognized by the Water Quality Association as an acceptable method to maintain certain drinking water contaminants within the limits of the EPA National Drinking Water Standards. Wall bracket, 15-1/4" wide x 8-1/2" deep x 26-1/2" high, 1" FPT inlet/outlet. Two large carbon cartridges last a long time (cartridge 4-1/2" diameter x 20" tall each). 1st is 10 micron carbon and 2nd 1 micron. Flow rate of 6-8 GPM, a pressure drop of 3 psi typical.
